How does Nando Parrado find the strength to continue his trek across the mountains towards civilization? Who is constantly thinking about, and what mind-tricks does he use to never give up?

Nando Parrado decided to include photographs of the tragedy in his book. What did you think about those photos? In what ways did they influence your understanding of the story? Did you like or dislike them?

Essential Questions
After the plane crash, many of the survivors question their faith in God. At the beginning of the crissis, Nando Parrado asks, “Why would [God] let my mother and sister die so senselessly? If he loves us so much, why does He leave us here to suffer?‟”. In what ways does his faith evolve over the course of the book?
